Ashcombe advises Rowan Dartington Holdings Limited on the sale of the business to St. James’s Place

Ashcombe Advisers is pleased to announce that it has advised Rowan Dartington Holdings Limited (“RDHL”) on the sale of the business to St. James’s Place Plc for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval.

RDHL is a specialist stockbroking and discretionary investment service including advisory portfolio management, direct equity, trust and charity portfolio management. The firm was established in Bristol in 1990 and employs around 100 people, including 31 investment executives across 10 regional offices. It has in excess of £1 billion funds under management.

Andreas Wesemann, Partner at Ashcombe Advisers, commented:

“We have had a long-standing relationship with the controlling shareholders of RDHL who have achieved an impressive turnaround and repositioning of the business since their investment in 2011. RDHL is today one of the leading mid-sized, vertically integrated wealth management companies in the UK, and therefore a very attractive target for St. James’s Place.”

Graham Coxell, Executive Chairman of RDHL, said:

“We have built a valuable business since our acquisition of the business in 2011 and are looking forward to being part of the St. James’s Place group. Our service range will broaden the range of investment options St. James’s Place can offer to existing clients and enable us to access new clients who value such services. I greatly value the strategic advice we received from Ashcombe to facilitate this transaction.”

This is Ashcombe Advisers’ 12th announced transaction in financial services since January 2014.
