Ashcombe advises Dynamic Credit Group on its sale to BNP Paribas Asset Management

Ashcombe is pleased to announce that is has advised Dynamic Credit Group (“DCG”), a Dutch asset manager and specialist lender with €9bn of assets under management, on the sale of a majority stake to BNP Paribas Asset Management (“BNPP AM”). The transaction will allow BNPP AM’s Private Debt & Real Assets investment division, currently managing €11bn of client commitments, to significantly grow its asset base, while providing DCG with access to a large and global distribution network.

DCG’s AUM consist primarily of Dutch mortgages, which it originates through its own online platform, bijBouwe, and other channels. It offers a full range of services to investors for this asset class, including portfolio management through collective and single mandates, as well as reporting and valuation services. Beyond Dutch mortgages, Dynamic Credit has built on its expertise within the origination and management of granular loan portfolios, to source personal loans and SME loans for its Diversified Loan Fund.

Tonko Gast said:

The backing of a leading asset manager such as BNPP AM is key for our future development and will allow us to extend our distribution networks across Europe. This was a complex transaction and we are grateful for having been able to rely on Ashcombe’s high-quality advice throughout.

Andreas Wesemann, Partner at Ashcombe, commented:

This is our second landmark transaction in the European asset management space this year. It was a pleasure to work with DCG and we are confident the partnership with BNPP AM will be very valuable for both parties.
